On the 14/04 we have entered 4 teams into a tournament in shrewsbury similar to the ones we have attended in market drayton already.  The tournament starts at 10:30am and we will be asking for you to arrive at the latest by 10am for registration.  The tournament is being held at London Road sports centre, Shrewsbury SY2 6PR.  We hope to be finished by 1:00pm and all mini soccer players are encouraged to attend to gain experiance in match situations.  Please try your best to attend.

We got underway with the right attitude and were on the attack from the kick off . The lads looked very impressive going forward and deservedly took the lead. Logan getting onto a loose ball in the box as Bridgnorth failed to clear and calmly stabbed the ball into the net.

With all our possession and sttacking we did leave ourselves abit open at the back but Bridgnorth could not take advantage, but a was a bit of a worry. It remained 1-0 till half time.

In the second half, Bridgnorth got more and more into the game and with us attacking so much we got caught out and they got the equalising goal.

Both teams then battled it out but neither could find a winner. Extratime was inevitable.

In extra tine we were unable to find a winner in the first period as we went defensive as we were playing up hill and the team looked tired. Still no goals.

In the second period we pressed more bbt Bridgnorth defended well and with only minutes remaining we got caught ball watching and Bridgnorth scored. 2-1 to Bridgnorth.

The team tried extremely hard to find the equaliser but were unable.We were sadly out of the cup.

Overall the game was very close and the team played really well and deserved more from the game. Well done lads!!!

The game got started with our kick off, and from the very first minute we attacked, closed down and tackled for the whole of the first half. It was end to end and very exciting. The performance and work rate from the team was first class. We hit the post and narrowly missed a chance before we were dealt a blow as we gave away a penalty as one of the lads handled the ball in the penalty box. Up stepped there player who struck the ball cleanly, but Joshua not only saved the initial kick, but kept the ball out another two times. Absolutely brilliant from our keeper. Amazingly the half finished 0-0.

The second half was just like the first with some excellent football played by both teams. It was a joy to watch.

Finally we broke the deadlock. With some good play from Brayden and Logan enabled Adam to be unmarked and from a tight angle beat the keeper at his near post. 1-0 to Wrekin.

However, this was short lived, as Shifnal immediately levelled with a great solo goal.

Both teams kept attacking, looking for the winner but i felt it was heading for a draw, till Logan managed to beat several players in and around the box, got his shot away, but an excellent save from there keeper kept it at 1-1 to the final whistle.

Todays performance was excellent. The whole team battled and played good football for the entire game.  Chris nor I could fault the teams commitment. WELL DONE !!!!!

Well today we put all the problems of the past few weeks behind us. On Saturday we had an extremely good training session and this showed on the pitch today.

We got off to a bit of a shakey start as we were caught with a long ball over the top; resulting with the defence being caught flat footed and Wellington taking a very quick lead. 0-1 to Wellington. We then seemed to wake up and play some good football with some tidy passes and surging runs down the wing. The pressure was mounting and we were soon level with Aaron, Vince and Kaleem pressuring the Wellington defence; the ball fell to Kaleem who slotted the ball into the net. 1-1. It soon became 2-1 to us as we broke down an attack from Wellington on our penalty box. The counter attack was swift as Vince broke free down the wing and scored from the resulting cross. 2-1 at Half time.

The second half was even between the two sides. We made a couple of changes after five minutes and the impact was immediate. Again we pressurised Wellingtons back line, Daniel and Brayden combined and supplied Logan with the ball, whom cooly slotted the ball past the keeper. 3-1.

We then made a double change to stop Wellington getting back into the game. Again we never allowed Wellingtons defence to rest and we were getting plenty of chances, then Logan won the ball and again scored. 4-1 and game over. We still pushed for more and we could have had more. Full time 4-1.

Today we were excellent all over the pitch with everyone battling for the ball and not allowing Wellington to play. Lets now carry this on and push up the league table.
